Rare Perfection Rare Lot Overproof 14 Year Canadian Whisky is bottled by Preservation Distillery, a small distillery located in Bardstown, Kentucky. Preservation Distillery is owned and operated by Marci Palatella, who also owns Very Olde Saint Nick Distillery.
Elegantly different from its 15 year old counterpart, this rare bottling elicits a sweeter, broader nose. Aromas and flavors surprise with subtle complexity and refinement, presenting with a lush softness on the palette that belies its 100+ proof.
Roasted, candied pecan, chocolate covered walnuts and hard toffee are all adorned in a butter cream coating. Wood spice is secondary on the nose, yet lovely hints come through allowing insight to its big brother, the Rare Perfection 15 Year Cask Strength.
A true "Overproof”, weighing in at a very palatable 100.7 proof, it’s full bodied, robust and balanced. This ballet of a whiskey glides into an understated nuance that surprises at every turn.
