Lost Republic Distilling Co. was founded by Colin Harter and Matthew Weese in 2013. Growing up best friends in Sonoma County and being surrounded by beautiful vineyards and terrain, the two had a vision of creating California’s craft brown water and the spirit that goes with it. At Lost Republic, they aim to deliver some of California’s highest quality craft whiskey.
The Cask Strength bottling is a more pronounced expression of Lost Republic Bourbon. Expect all the great grain and barrel flavors but with more concentration and intensity. Most notable will be the creme brulee balance of vanilla, caramel, and biscuit. This is a single barrel offering so each barrel will be unique in its the blend of flavors and how they dynamically show in the glass. Take note of the change in aromas and flavors as your drink opens up Lemon, lavender, cherry, hibiscus, cinnamon, and tea notes may come and go as your tasting progresses. Use water to find the perfect strength for your palette. Some prefer iced for cool sipping, and some like the finish of full strength.
