Cómplice Tepeztate is produced using 100% Agave marmorata (Maguey Tepeztate) by Mezcalero Epigmenio Martínez Pérez in Santa María Albarradas, Oaxaca.
After the agaves reach maturity after approximately 35 years they are harvested and cooked in a river-stone pit oven. The cooked agaves are crushed by a horse-drawn tahona. After fermenting in oak wood vats, it is double distilled in copper stills. This mezcal has earthy, floral, and sweet flavors.
This mezcal is part of the limited edition Cómplice de Pasión series made from wild agave.
