Montagave Blanco 'Héritage' (Lot 237) is the second release under the 'Héritage' label and offers a unique bottling of 1,422 bottles that will never be replicated. Montagave selected 5 of their favorite Grand Cru Bordeaux barrels from Lot 172 to be used in this 2nd fill edition.
A wine barrel imparts a livelier flavor profile than a bourbon barrel, bringing sweetness and distinctively rich fruit and floral notes. With up to 50% of these flavors remaining after their 1st fill, they decided to double the time in barrel for Lot 237.
"New make" Cascahuín Blanco entered the barrel at 45% Alc. Vol. and was left for 57 days. Bottled at 41% ABV, the result is a beautiful expression from NOM 1123, with a touch more Cascahuín distillery character and a touch less flavor and color influence from the Bordeaux wine barrel. This limited bottling offers a unique experience for the Tequila enthusiast and encapsulates the very spirit of craftsmanship, collaboration, and innovation of Montagave.
