Muckety Muck 26 Years Aged Single Grain Scotch Whisky

The Port Dundas Distillery was established in 1810 and gave the world two centuries of exceptional whisky. Although Port Dundas closed its doors in 2010, there are rare remaining stocks that provide a glimpse into the past of one of Scotland’s most respected distilleries.

This 26-year-old whisky is one of those rare remaining stocks and is the third release in the Muckety-Muck series – a masterful blend that pays homage to the previous releases yet possesses a distinct profile on its own.

Flavor/Finish: Butterscotch vanilla combines with notes of toasted oak and a light fruity taste to carry through the finish.

Aroma: The aroma starts with a burst of caramel, fudge and baked sugar, backed by hints of fresh fruit and berries.
Distillery:  Port Dundas Distillery

Alc. Vol: 46% (92º Proof).
Size: 750 ml

I guess the bottles can change from one to another

I’ve been a big Orphan Barrel fan of the 24,25,& 26 yrs oMuckety Muck series. I’ve order three bottles of the 26yr from Rare Tequilas this year alone. I cracked one the 26 yrs expecting it to be full of the listed notes and butterscotch, Carmel taste but this bottle was a miss. I don’t believe this is Rare Tequilas fault but I wonder if they acquired these bottles at a cheaper price due to some unknown issue with how they were brought about during production? The master is very off for a $240 bottle (that’s what I paid for my first one) and then $310 for two more afterwards with a price drop.

Hi Mark,

The distributor was closing out the bottles and dropped the price, which allowed us to do the same, just like other retailers who participated in the deal. This created a new 'MSRP' for those bottles. It’s important to note that the price drop had nothing to do with the quality of the product but was simply due to the distributor clearing out older inventory that had slowed down. The bottles we shipped were actually from our original stock purchased at full price, which we previously sold for $229.99. Since we still had a significant quantity of that stock left before buying at the discounted rate, we sold all the bottles at the lower price, knowing we'd eventually recoup the cost of the higher-priced inventory.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thanks!
