Tequila Ocho Plata & Reposado is a two-bottle set that lets you taste the same single-estate highland agave unaged and barrel-rested side by side. Both are 750ml, 40% ABV, 100% Blue Weber agave, and additive-free, distilled at La Alteña in Arandas, Jalisco (NOM 1474). Buying the pair saves $3.99 versus the two bottles separately.
Actual estate and harvest year may differ from the image, based on current availability.
Why Tequila Ocho
Tequila Ocho introduced the idea of terroir to tequila. Created by third-generation tequilero Carlos Camarena and the late Tomas Estes, every expression is made from agave harvested only when fully overripe, slow-cooked in stone and brick ovens, extracted on a roller mill, fermented in open-air wooden tanks, and twice distilled in small copper pot stills. Each bottle names the single field the agave came from and the year it was harvested.

Frequently asked questions
Which is better, Tequila Ocho Plata or Reposado?
Neither is objectively better — they answer different questions. Choose the Plata if you want unfiltered highland agave character and a cleaner margarita base. Choose the Reposado if you want vanilla, caramel, and soft oak layered over that same agave. This bundle exists so you don't have to pick.
What's the difference between the two bottles?
Both are 40% ABV from the same distillery and the same agave sourcing. The Plata is unaged. The Reposado rests 8 weeks and 8 days in ex-whiskey American white oak. Aging is the only variable.
Is Tequila Ocho additive-free?
Yes. Both expressions are 100% blue agave with no sweeteners, glycerin, oak extract, or coloring.
What does "single estate" mean on the label?
Each release comes from agave harvested in one named field in a single year. The estate name and vintage appear on the bottle, so the flavor profile shifts between releases — the same way vintage works in wine.
In what order should I taste them?
Plata first, then Reposado. Going the other way makes the unaged expression read thin.
Is this a good tequila gift?
It's one of the better ones under $100. Two full 750ml bottles, a built-in tasting exercise, and a producer that serious agave drinkers already respect. If you want to go further, the three-bottle Tequila Ocho Collection adds the Añejo.
