Discover the perfect balance of agave and oak with Viva Mexico Reposado Tequila, an additive-free tequila handcrafted at Destilería El Ranchito (NOM 1414) in the Highlands (Los Altos) of Jalisco, Mexico. Made by Master Distiller Sergio Cruz, this award-worthy reposado is produced from 100% estate-grown Blue Weber agave and aged for an average of four months in American oak barrels, creating exceptional complexity while preserving the vibrant character of cooked agave.
Mature agaves are harvested after 6–8 years, slow-roasted in traditional brick ovens for up to 50 hours, roller-milled, open-air fermented for 5–8 days using proprietary and champagne yeast with deep well water, and double-distilled in traditional copper pot stills. The result is a smooth, naturally expressive tequila that showcases traditional craftsmanship without additives.
The nose reveals inviting aromas of dark cherry, pomegranate, orange zest, vanilla bean, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. The palate is rich and layered, featuring cooked agave, baking spices, black pepper, charred citrus, salted caramel, and hints of vanilla with remarkable balance between fresh agave and gentle oak influence. The finish is long, warm, and silky, leaving lingering notes of sweet spice, toasted oak, and roasted agave.
Whether enjoyed neat, over a large ice cube, or paired with fine cuisine, Viva Mexico Reposado delivers an authentic Highland tequila experience that appeals to both seasoned enthusiasts and whiskey lovers looking to explore premium aged tequila.
